Overview

The Senior Compliance Specialist will report to the Associate General Counsel and will protect business interests and ensure execution on compliance issues. The Senior Compliance Specialist will help implement and support the quality assurance and regulatory compliance strategies of CROSSMARK with respect to events in retail stores.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws with respect to all aspects of event sampling programs in retail stores.

  • Performs research of laws.

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business groups with respect to compliance matters.

  • Develops and disseminates written policies and procedures related to event compliance and provides necessary training for employees.

  • Conducts periodic audits to ensure fulfillment.

  • Maintains understanding of laws and regulations relevant to event compliance and determine applicability to our business.

  • Communicates requirements of the laws, preempts potential problems, and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes.

  • Works with state and local regulators as needed. Ensures implementation of the compliance strategy.

  • Leads and manages investigations, including remedies resulting from complaints and violations.

  • Mentor other Compliance Specialists

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (or Bachelor's equivalency) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to three years’ experience in ethics and compliance relevant fields.

Other Functions: Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint; Commitment to promoting CROSSMARK mission and values; Strong process management skills; Strong leadership skills and value orientation; Business results and customer orientation; Familiarity with regulatory laws, particularly within the food safety and adult beverage compliance environment; Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with multiple teams simultaneously; Excellent and detailed research and analytical skills; Excellent corporate and operations communication skills, both verbal and written, combined with an ability to build solid relationships across a diverse group; Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and to be persuasive in a manner that is both direct and diplomatic; Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines; Ability to focus on details while not losing sight of the big picture; Solid business acumen and judgment, including the ability to set priorities, align plans and work effectively with multiple managers and employees to develop practical solutions and communications to support the compliance program; The ability and desire to work independently on the "front lines" of the business, with limited direct supervision.
